Teng Jianghe, also known as Tiger, was born is China in 1974 and he was an automobile racer before he started sailing in 2010. He took part in several races in 2010 such as Club Challenge China (third place), China cup (first place) and Dungshan International Yacht Race (second place). Then he trained for the Clipper Round the World and he competed in the Rolex Fastnet race with Volvo Team Sanya in 2011.
Between 2011 and 2012 he took part in the Volvo Ocean Race once again with Team Sanya. Tiger was the first ever Chinese sailing team member to take part in the Volvo Ocean Race.
