Alex Pella

Alex Pella is born in Barcelona in 1972.

The rising star of Spanish offshore sailing started his career as skipper with the prototypes of the Mini Transat, a regatta that he finished in third place in 2003 and in second place two years later. In 2014, he became the first and only Spanish sailor to have won the Route du Rhum on board the Class 40 Thales II. After this experience, he joins Francis Joyon and the crew of Idec Sport trimaran and became in 2016 co-holder of the Jules Verne Trophy (for the non-stop round the world record).

In 2017 he won the Transat Jacques Vabre in double with Lalou Roucayrol in the Multi 50 class.
