Maserati Multi 70‘s Team won the third race of the Caribbean Multihull Challenge: Giovanni Soldini and his crew set sail from Grand Case at 11 local time (15 UTC, 16 Italian time) and they crossed the finish line in Simpson Bay at 14.03.30 local time, finishing the race with an elapsed time of 3 hours, 3 minutes and 30 seconds. Their direct competitor Argo crossed the finish line not even a minute after them, with an elapsed time of 3 hours, 3 minutes and 56 seconds.
Giovanni Soldini, a few minutes after crossing the finish line, explained: “It was a great race, with a wind typical of this area: 20-25 knots with many wind shifts. We started well, we took the lead right away and we stayed in first place the whole time. At some point we were able to gain a nice advantage over Argo, but on the last leg they had a favourable growing wind and they caught up with us: they arrived less than 30 seconds after us! We’re very happy about today’s race and we’re ready for the RORC Caribbean 600!”
