At 14.30 local time (6.30 UTC, 8.30 Italian time), Maserati Multi 70‘s Team is sailing at 27 knots, 142 miles away from the finish line of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club Nha Trang Rally (ex Hong Kong to Vietnam Race), followed closely behind by Hong Kong-based Orma 60 SHK Scallywag Fuku, sailing at 24 knots.
The two trimarans set sail from Hong Kong yesterday October 16th at 15.10 local time and took the lead of the fleet this morning at 8 local time, when they sailed ahead monohull Jinn, who set sail 18 hours before them.
The last leg of the race is going to be challenging: the weather forecast indicate a lighter downwind. SHK Scallywag Fuku is a very light boat, which makes it advantaged in these conditions.
