Born in Milan in 1992, he graduated in physical engineering specializing in nanotechnology, and developed his passion by sailing since he was very young.

Navigator aboard Maserati Mod 70 (Giovanni Soldini) and responsible for electronics for Ambrogio Beccaria’s Class40 Alla Grande – Pirelli, in 2019 he won the title of Italian Champion Mini Class 6.50 (category Proto). In 2020 and the following year he sailed on EdiliziAcrobatica, winning both the title of Italian Champion Mini Class 650 (Series category) and the first place in the International Ranking and ended his Mini season crossing the finish line in second position at the Mini-Transat 2021.

Today Riva, who is president of the Italian Mini class and athlete of the Italian Yacht Club of Genoa, is engaged together with the crew of Austrian Ocean Racing Team Genoa for the Ocean Race – The Grand Finale. Together with its main sponsor EdiliziAcrobatica, it is looking for partners for a new Class 40 project.
