A violent whirlwind hit the area of the boatyard near Marina di Carrara, causing enormous damage to Maserati Multi 70. The wind lifted the trimaran out of the supports and threw it to the ground meters away.
Giovanni Soldini commented: “These violent weather events, which cause very serious damage, are linked to the high water temperature of the Mediterranean and are increasingly frequent. The climate emergency is there for all to see, and to limit the consequences we must act now.”
The day after, the Team lifted Maserati Multi 70 with a crane and put it back on the saddles, then they started ultrasound analysis to find the points that were hit and worked to bring the trimaran back on its feet.
