At 17:08 local time on Sunday 15 May, with a real time of 22 hours and 38 minutes, Giovanni Soldini and the crew of Maserati Multi70 were the first to cross the finish line of the 67th edition of the Regatta of the Three Gulfs, organised by the Circolo Remo e Vela Italia under the patronage of the Italian Sailing Federation and in collaboration with Yacht Club Italiano, Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, IMA, ORC, UVAI, AIVE.
The 67th edition of the TRE GOLFI Regatta, organized by Circolo Remo and Vela Italia with the patronage of FIV and in collaboration with Yacht Club Italiano, Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, IMA, ORC, UVAI, AIVE, has started. By regulation, the two multihulls in the race have cut the starting line an hour ahead of the rest of the fleet.
Today May 14th, at 18.30, Maserati Multi70 and Mana will set sail for the 67th edition of the Regata dei Tre Golfi. Both trimarans will race in MOD mode. Soldini commented: “Mana is a boat identical to Maserati Multi70, so it’s going to be a really hard-fought race, it takes the smallest thing to lose precious miles: we will give it our best!”
Yesterday, on Friday May 13th, at 7.00 pm, on the eve of the regatta, Giovanni Soldini stopped in Procida, where the awarding ceremony of the Sports Ethics Prize instituted this year by MARetica took place. MARetica is the event that proposes four days of sport and culture in Procida to “rethink mankind starting from the sea” and that this year will return to the island from 8th to 11th September with a programme full of events as part of Procida Italian Capital of Culture 2022.

The racing season in the Caribbeans is over and Giovanni Soldini has set sail from Antigua to bring Maserati Multi70 back in the Mediterranean, in La Spezia, from where he will start the process of transforming the boat installing aboard an instrument that will measure the CO2 present in the sea’s surface. Unexpectedly, for the ocean crossing, Hervé Barmasse is joining the crew: the great Italian alpinist has just returned from an expedition on the Nanga Parabat.
Jason Carroll’s Argo (USA) crossed the finish line of the RORC Caribbean 600 to take Multihull Line Honours and set a new Multihull Race Record of 29 hours, 38 mins, 44 secs. Giovanni Soldini’s Maserati Multi70 was just 2 minutes and 13 seconds behind Argo, but did win the MOCRA Class after time correction. Peter Cunningham’s PowerPlay (CAY) finished third over the line. Gilles Lamire’s Multi50 Groupe GCA-1001 Sourires (FRA) was third after MOCRA time correction.
