The Italian trimaran will have to arrive to the finish line off Dinard, 138 miles ahead, before 14:02:37 GMT to beat the time set by Phaedo3 (4 hours, 48 minutes and 57 seconds, with an average speed of 28,66 knots).
Giovanni Soldini and Maserati Multi 70’s Team will challenge British MOD 70 PowerPlay, skippered by Ned Collier Wakefield, in a high speed match race during the Cowes to Dinard record attempt. The two trimarans already raced each other multiple times in the past few years and they decided to set sail from Cowes together tomorrow morning, making the challenge even more exciting.

The Italian Team’s record is around 2 hours shorter than the previous time, set by Lloyd Thornburg and Brian Thompson aboard Phaedo3 in 2015, of 14 hours, 5 minutes and 20 seconds.

The Italian Team’s record is almost 2 hours shorter than the previous time, set by Lloyd Thornburg and Brian Thompson aboard Phaedo3 in 2015, of 14 hours, 5 minutes and 20 seconds.
Maserati Multi 70, around 4 hours after the start, is getting closer to the French coast.
Soldini explains from aboard: «We’re sailing really fast, for the past hour we kept an average above 32-33 knots, reaching up to 40 knots. We will arrive to the most challenging passage soon, between Ouessant and the coast. We’re going “a cannamorta”!»
