The countdown to the Rolex Middle Sea Race has begun. The Maserati Multi70 Team is back on the water and ready to head to Malta. On Saturday October 22, a volley of cannon shots from the fortress in La Valletta will signal the start of the 37th edition of this classic Mediterranean offshore event first raced in 1968.

A week after being lifted out of the water for a complete check at the Cantiere Picchiotti in La Spezia, Maserati Multi70 has been completely dismantled from her appendages all the way up to her mast so that every single component can be meticulously checked by her Team.
Three months of sea trials, modifications in the yard at Lorient and a 3,500 miles of sea between Brittany and Porto Lotti via the islands of Sardinia and Sicily: Maserati and Giovanni Soldini have had a very busy first three months with their new boat Maserati Multi70.
Maserati Multi70’s 2016 competitive season spans two events: the Rolex Middle Sea Race and the RORC Transatlantic Race.
The new Maserati Multi70 trimaran’s sporting schedule for 2016 was announced on June 29 to a high profile audience at an event hosted by the Yacht Club de Monaco and attended by Giovanni Soldini, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles chairman and challenge patron John Elkann and Pierre Casiraghi, all of whom will also be competing on the team.
