At 18 UTC, the three MOD 70s are sailing with weak winds, around 7/10 knots from north-northeast, at slow pace: PowerPlay is sailing on starboard tack at 13.7 knots, Argo and Maserati Multi 70, slightly more north, are sailing on port tack at 10.9 and 13.3 knots, respectively.
Day five of sailing, at 12 UTC: the three MOD 70s are still leading the fleet after an intense night of gybing. PowerPlay, Argo and Maserati Multi 70, who have been in the lead of the 30 competing yachts since the start, are heading south looking for the stable Trade winds.
It’s the fourth sailing day since the start of the RORC Transatlantic Race and the challenge between the three MOD 70s continues in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
It’s 15 UTC and Maserati Multi 70 is still sailing in the leading group, around 2000 miles from the finish line. The three MOD 70s gybed: PowerPlay in the lead, followed by Argo at around 100 miles of distance and by Maserati Multi 70, 40 more miles behind, are sailing towards south-west.
At 15 UTC (16 Italian time), Maserati Multi 70 is sailing north-west at 17.2 knots. A few dozen miles ahead, PowerPlay is going at 19.1 knots and Argo at 13.4. An important passage is getting closer for the MOD 70s.
A little more than 24 hours after the start of the RORC Transatlantic Race 2022, at 12 UTC, the three MOD 70s are still leading the fleet. PowerPlay first, with Argo and Maserati Multi 70 slightly more north, have sailed over 600 miles since the start of the race and are still sailing north-west, pushed by an easterly wind.
At 22 UTC (23 Italian time), 12 hours has passed since the start from Lanzarote, and the three MOD 70s are in the lead of the fleet of yachts that entered the 8th edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race.
