12 hours after the start of the race, at midnight, the two MOD 70s Maserati Multi 70 and Mana are duelling head-to-head in front of TorreFaro, half a mile between them, almost out of the Strait of Messina.
During the afternoon, while sailing north in the Strait, the two MOD 70s took slightly different routes: Maserati Multi 70 stayed closer to the Sicilian coast, looking for a favourable wind, while Mana headed east. The two trimarans never had many miles between them and are now very close to each other again.
Passed the Strait, Soldini and his competitor will head north-west towards Stromboli.
