At 19 UTC, at the end of the fourth day of Transpac, Maserati Multi 70 continues to sail on port tack towards the finish line.
“We’re sailing on a fantastic tack,” explains Giovanni Soldini. “With the new rudder’s settings Maserati Multi 70 sails very well, since we gybed he haven’t stopped flying: we have never sailed for this many miles in a row before! We had one hour of lighter wind, but now we’re going ‘a cannamorta’: in the past two hours we flied at 29 knots of average speed, 3-4 knots more than on starboard tack.”
According to the positions updated at 16 UTC, Argo was still on the lead with 383 miles to go, followed by PowerPlay 443 miles from the finish line. Maserati Multi 70‘s Team still had 602 miles ahead of it.
