Maserati Multi 70 is around 20 miles from Lampedusa, the last buoy before setting course to the finish line in Malta. After passing Favignana, around midnight (22 UTC), the Italian Team and their competitor Mana started to gain speed thanks to the north-westerly wind, after a challenging day very close to each other north of Sicily.
In around 5 hours the two MOD 70s reached Pantelleria and are now, at 10.30 local time (8.30 UTC), a few miles away from the last obstacle between them and the finish line. At the moment Maserati Multi 70 is 119.6 miles from the finish line and is sailing at 19.2 knots, followed by Mana at 18.7 knots, with 122.5 miles ahead.
