During the night, Maserati Multi 70 and PowerPlay gybed towards South, to exit the high pressure zone and headed towards the Trade Winds.
The Italian trimaran changed its route a few hours before the English rival and headed more South. “We gybed when we saw the wind dropping” explains Soldini from aboard, “PowerPlay can sail better with light winds, so they gybed later.”
At 8.00 UTC, the tracker shows Maserati Multi 70 sailing South at 18 knots, with 2365 miles to go before the finish line, while PowerPlay is going at 15 knots, 2350 miles away from Grenada.
