A little more than two days after the start of the Transpac, Maserati Multi 70‘s Team is going on on its course towards Honolulu on the wake of its competitors, Argo and PowerPlay.
Sailing on starboard tack, the Italian trimaran’s performance is disadvantaged by the last night’s damages. Giovanni Soldini explains: “Without the left rudder’s foil it’s really difficult to control Maserati Multi 70’s longitudinal trim: the trimaran tends to rear up before falling back in the water, and the speed is obviously affected by it. We can’t wait to gybe!”
Maserati Multi 70, according to the positions updated at 3 UTC, was sailing at 26 knots, around fifty miles behind PowerPlay, at 28 knots, 1253 miles away from the finish line. In first place was Argo, sailing at 27 knots with 1184 miles ahead.
