The 67th edition of the TRE GOLFI Regatta, organized by Circolo Remo and Vela Italia with the patronage of FIV and in collaboration with Yacht Club Italiano, Reale Yacht Club Canottieri Savoia, IMA, ORC, UVAI, AIVE, has started. By regulation, the two multihulls in the race have cut the starting line an hour ahead of the rest of the fleet.
Giovanni Soldini and the crew of Maserati Multi70, will face their rival, Riccardo Pavoncelli’s Mana with skipper Paul Larsen, in MOD 70 mode crossing the gulfs of Naples, Gaeta and Sorrento and sailing between the islands of Procida, Ischia, Ventotene, Ponza with finish line in Capri.
Due to the prevalence of light winds that will accompany the entire race the multihull course that initially should have extended to San Marco di Castellabate, has been readjusted by the race committee and aligned to the traditional route, with the last buoy at Li Galli.
“The conditions are not the best,” said Giovanni Soldini before the start: “With little wind every meter becomes precious and the race is very tactical. It will be long and hard fought”.
Maserati Multi70 participates in the TRE GOLFI for the first time. In this race, Giovanni Soldini will be accompanied by a crew of 6 sailors: Guido Broggi, Oliver Herrera Perez, Thomas Joffrin, Francesco Pedol, Alberto Riva, Gianluigi Ugolini.
