On Saturday January 8th 2022, in the waters of Puerto Calero, Lanzarote, on the starting line of the 8th edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race, organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club in collaboration with Yacht Club de France, Giovanni Soldini and Maserati Multi 70 will also kick off the new sport season.
On Tuesday December 21st Maserati Multi 70 arrived in Arrecife, in Lanzarote, Canary Islands, after a quick 5-day-long delivery.
Maserati Multi 70 set sail from Porto Lotti in La Spezia towards Lanzarote, in the Canary Islands, to participate in the eight edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race, organized by the Royal Ocean Racing Club, in association with the International Maxi Association (IMA) and the Yacht Club de France. The race will start from Puerto Calero on January 8th, 2022.
At 21.46 UTC (23.46 Italian time) on Sunday October 24th, Maserati Multi 70 crossed the finish line of the 42nd edition of the Rolex Middle Sea Race, off Valletta, after 1 day, 12 hours, 36 minutes and 7 seconds from the start. Giovanni Soldini and his crew came in second in elapsed time: their direct competitor, the American Argo, skippered by Jason Carroll, crossed the finish line at 18.39 UTC (20.39 Italian time), setting a new race record, of 1 day, 9 hours, 29 minutes and 28 seconds.

Giovanni Soldini and his crew completed the course in 1 day, 12 hours, 36 minutes and 7 seconds, finishing second in elapsed time: their direct competitor, the American Argo, skippered by Jason Carroll, crossed the finish line at 18.39 UTC (20.39 Italian time), setting a new record, of 1 day, 9 hours, 29 minutes and 28 seconds.
It’s 9 UTC (11 Italian time), 24 hours after the start, and Maserati Multi 70 is sailing west of Pantelleria, neck and neck with Argo: the American trimaran is first, sailing at 10.6 knots, followed 5 miles behind by the Italian Team, at 11.1 knots.
At 21.30 UTC (23.30 Italian time), just 12 hours after the start of the Rolex Middle Sea Race, Maserati Multi 70 stays in the lead sailing north of Sicily. Passed Stromboli, Soldini’s Team is sailing at 26.7 knots with 6.5 miles of advantage over his American direct competitor Argo, following at 22.4 knots. Right behind is the Italian MOD 70 Mana, at 24.6 knots. Soldini: “Aboard everything is well, after a small drop of wind near Stromboli, we’re now sailing with 20 knots of east-northeasterly wind”
Giovanni Soldini and his Team set sail from Valletta this morning and sailed along the eastern coast of Sicily at close range with their direct competitors, the American Argo and the Italian Mana. At 18.15 UTC (20.15 Italian time), 9 hours after the start, the Italian trimaran takes the lead, sailing out of the Strait of Messina ahead of the fleet, at 27.3 knots. On Maserati Multi 70’s wake, Argo follows at 27.9 knots, only a mile behind, then Mana at 17.9 knots, 5 miles back.
