Giovanni Soldini and his Team set sail from Valletta this morning and sailed along the eastern coast of Sicily at close range with their direct competitors, the American Argo and the Italian Mana. At 18.15 UTC (20.15 Italian time), 9 hours after the start, Maserati Multi 70 takes the lead, sailing out of the Strait of Messina ahead of the fleet, at 27.3 knots. On Maserati Multi 70‘s wake, Argo follows at 27.9 knots, only a mile behind, then Mana at 17.9 knots, 5 miles back.
