A little more than 250 miles from the finish line, the tracker shows Maserati Multi 70 in first place, in front of PowerPlay and Argo, very close to each other. In a few hours they will have to face the difficult passage around Barbados.
Giovanni Soldini comments from aboard: “We decided to take the west side of the course even if we passed behind our competitors yesterday. We were expecting the wind to turn and when it happened we were in a good position. But the real difference is Maserati Multi 70 that grew a lot and is a pleasure to sail in these conditions. The next hours are unsure and challenging, the wind is getting lighter and there will be zones with no wind and since the boats are fast and the competition lever is very high if we stop even for a moment they will take advantage of it.”
